What doesn’t zucchini like? Provide it with appropriate conditions for development

Caring for zucchini is not difficult. If we take proper care of it, we will be able to enjoy rich harvests. The most important thing in planting zucchini is the choice of place. It likes fertile, humus soil and sunny positions. Before planting, it is best to enrich the soil with compost or horse manure, so that the plants will have access to appropriate nutrients. Remember that zucchini grows rapidly, so you need to keep a large distance between them. An important factor during flowering and fruit formation is adequate hydration. We water it abundantly, every evening, from the roots. Avoid soaking the leaves as this promotes the development of diseases. DA good way to provide zucchini with adequate soil moisture is mulching, e.g. with straw. This will also help prevent the growth of weeds that rob the zucchini of nutrients.

How to make zucchini bear fruit? We need to help pollinate its flowers

Empty zucchini flowers do not set fruit, so we can say goodbye to the vegetable harvest. This is especially frustrating when we put a lot of effort into growing it. This happens mainly due to the lack of dust, which is necessary for their production. Fortunately, we can deal with this problem and help the plant pollinate. The easiest way is to plant melliferous flowers nearby, e.g. lavender or marigolds.thanks to which we will attract pollinating insects to the garden.

Additionally, it is worth spraying zucchini with a home-made solution that will encourage bees to visit its flowers. Sugar-based spray can be made from 2 liters of water, a large spoon of honey and 4-5 spoons of sugar.. Mix all the ingredients together in a spray bottle and mix the flowers and zucchini leaves twice a day – in the morning and in the evening, 2-3 times a week during the flowering period. Thanks to this, insects will not miss any flowers, which will significantly increase the chance of fruit set. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
