Passengers sitting at the back of the plane, or more precisely near its tail, had a much greater chance of surviving a potential crash than those sitting in the front.
At the rear, the survival rate was 69 percent, and at the front, it was 49 percent. In the middle of the plane and at the height of the wings – 56%. A similar analysis was also carried out in 2015, and its results were similar. The mortality rate for the rear seats then reached 32 percent, and for the front seats – 38 percent.
