The famous one is actually located in the small town of Winnetka at 671 Lincoln Avenue in the suburbs of Chicago. For the last three decades, crowds have regularly lined up at its gate, wanting to take photos in front of it. This didn’t bother its current owners, who bought it in 2012 for just under $1.6 million.
Initially, the building was teeming with life, as the buyers decided to live there. Only in 2021 did they move out and then they organized a charity event that received wide coverage in the local media. At that time, the rooms known from the film were rented for one night via Airbnb. Such pleasure cost only $25, or approximately PLN 100, and all proceeds were donated to La Rabida Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

In the meantime, the property underwent a thorough renovation, during which it was not only renovated and modernized, but also expanded. On 394 square meters there are currently 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, dining room, office, pantry, and even a cinema room and a sports field. You only need to pay USD 5.25 million, i.e. over PLN 20 million, to acquire it.
Interestingly, this is not the first building made famous by this iconic series that has gone up for sale. In 2023, the tenement house known from the second part of “Home Alone in New York” was also looking for new owners. The value of the property located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan was estimated at $7.6 million at that time, but there were no buyers. A few months later, the price was reduced by $1.2 million, but this was not enough to find suitable buyers. Currently, its current owners still live in the apartment.
