In 1992, she released her first solo album “Love”, which was a huge commercial success, went triple platinum and became the beginning of her spectacular career. After a phenomenal decade, Bartosiewicz unexpectedly withdrew from the industry and suspended her career. It is true that she reminded herself from time to time by recording songs by other artists, but she stopped creating music herself. There were speculations in the media that the reason was a crisis in her marriage or even serious problems with alcohol or drugs. However, she consistently avoided commenting on the matter and did not give any interviews.
In 2010, she returned to the stage with a bang, giving a concert that her fans had never even dreamed of. Shortly afterwards, an interview appeared in “Zwierciadło” in which she talked about the reasons for suspending her career. It turned out that during the recording of the hit song “Niewinność” she noticed that she was losing her voice. – I felt like I couldn’t sing. I sounded worse and worse, there was no old expression, no old Edyta – back then. However, she did not want to explore this topic, explaining that she was not ready for it yet. But now she finally broke the silence.
Losing her voice changed her life. Bartosiewicz confesses what this experience taught her
A few days ago, Bartosiewicz published an interview for , in which she returned to the painful events from over two decades ago. She directly admitted that everything she went through was necessary for her to become the woman and artist she is today. – Due to various more difficult experiences, I separated from a certain matrix that I followed in the 1990s. It happened very naturally, although not painlessly – she said.
For the first time, she also decided to reveal what caused the loss of her voice. Contrary to speculation, it was not a physical ailment or disease, but, as he claims, a deep-seated fear. – I had a lot of tensions and blockages that poisoned my perception and did not allow me to fully feel or receive stimuli – she said and added that, paradoxically, this was what saved her. – In my life, the greatest frustration and unfulfillment turned out to be the most valuable treasure and a reliable signpost – she argued. At the same time, she emphasized that it was a huge turning point and a ticket to a better life. – What happened in my life 22 years ago, losing my voice and health in general, was the best thing that could have happened to me. Thanks to these experiences, I slowly started to take a different direction and started to change my way of thinking. I actually had no other choice if I wanted to survive, she concluded.
