What attacks fruit trees in gardens? Not only aphids

There are a number of pests in orchards and gardens that attack trees and shrubs. The result is not only poor yields, poorer quality and damaged fruit, but also often the death of the entire plant. Fruit trees most often they attack the so-called fruit flies, i.e. butterfly larvae. This applies to, among others: apple trees, but also pears, apricots, cherries and plums. Aphids are an equally popular pest, which are definitely not picky and attack all fruit trees. What other pests attack trees?

• Spider mites – they can be found not only on potted plants, but also on fruit trees and shrubs. Their presence can be recognized by the characteristic spider web.
• The seed moth – most often, the larvae of this insect can be found on cherries. It causes worms in fruit, which rot and are unfit for consumption.
• Flowers – the larvae of these beetles eat the insides of flower buds of cherry and apple trees, but not only that, causing trees and shrubs to bear less fruit.

How to protect fruit trees from pests? Hang a bag of water on a branch

Although pests can be fought with, among others: using spraying, using strong chemicals is not always the only solution. It turns out that there is a simple method, often used by experienced gardeners, that does not require spraying. Just hang a plastic bag filled with water on a tree and throw a few coins into it.

Hang the prepared repeller on a branch in a place where sunlight falls on it. Sun rays reflecting in water and coins will effectively repel insects.
