The Zinegoak festival claims a queer utopia
Euskaraz irakurri: “Queer utopia” argituko du Zinegoak jaialdiak
The artist Dom Campistron (Aldude, 1994) has been in charge of designing the poster for Zinegoak, Bilbao LGTBIQ+ film and performing arts festival. The festival organization has explained that the poster shows “two people who embody the idea of queer utopia that the festival claims in this 2024 edition.”
“We wanted to continue investigating the freedom to express and construct oneself and for that uniqueness to be the basis for the construction of a new society full of diverse people who organize, group together and weave networks to invent new ways of being in the world” comments the director of the contest, Alaitz Arenzana.
Zinegoak will be held from June 24 to July 1 in various rooms and spaces in Bilbao, such as Bilborock, Golem Alhóndiga or BilbaoArte. On June 24, Monday, the opening gala will be held at the Arriaga theater, although the previous weekend several complementary activities will be held within the framework of the festival under the motto “3, 2, 1… Zinegoak!”.
