The longtime producer of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series, Jerry Bruckheimer, spoke. In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” he admitted that he had already made the first arrangements with Depp regarding his return to the famous role:

The producer is not the only one who looks favorably on future projects with Depp. The actor himself first, in the middle of the trial with Amber Heard, distanced himself from Disney, the main producer and owner of “Pirates of the Caribbean”, claiming that there is nothing in the world that Mickey Mouse could offer him to become Captain Sparrow again. After two years, however, he changed his mind and, apparently, is considering returning. Moreover, a “close friend” of the actor claims that cooperation with Disney is possible. “Anything is possible, as long as the project is right, Depp will agree,” said a friend in an interview with People.

Following a wave of accusations and press reports about Johnny Depp’s private life, Disney decided to remove him from all the franchises in which the actor had a good job. This also applied to the series from the “Harry Potter” universe, in which Depp played the role of Gellert Grindelwald. Since the end of the trial, in which a jury found that Amber Heard had defamed him with claims that he was a perpetrator of “sexual violence” and “domestic violence”, Depp has appeared in one film: “Jeanne du Barry”.
