They were one of the hottest couples of the Polish People’s Republic. He is a famous writer, she is a young and beautiful actress. The love story of Kalina Jêdrusik and Stanis³aw Dygata is unique. They lived in an unusual relationship, but in the end the artist left his wife for her.

Stanisław Dygat was a famous columnist and film playwright. He wrote, among others, “Lake Constance” and “Munich Station”. He was in a relationship with the actress, Władysława Nawrocka. Together with his wife and daughter, they lived in Łódź, Kraków, Wrocław, and finally moved to Gdańsk. And it was there that Stanisław Dygat met Kalina Jędrusik, who was 16 years his junior.

Kalina Jędrusik performed at the Wybrzeże Theater in Gdańsk. Dygat was delighted with the young actress when he saw her in the play “Don’t play with love” in 1953. His marriage had its share of problems. He and his wife often argued, they lived in an artistic world, and their everyday life was ruled by parties, but also by financial problems.

Jędrusik and Dygat quickly became closer to each other. – He fell in love immediately. He put his marriage on the line, and Kalina’s life story began. She met her best friend – explained in an interview with Remigiusz Grzela, author of the book “Who will be as bad for you as with me? The story of Kalina Jędrusik and Stanisław Dygat”. she moved into the apartment where the writer’s wife and mother-in-law also lived. Finally, Dygat asked Nawrocka for a divorce, and she agreed and at the same time gave him her daughter to raise.

After the divorce from Nawrocka, Kalina and Stanisław got married, but decided on the so-called open marriage. Jędrusik had many lovers whom her husband accepted and even chose. They lived together for over 20 years until the writer’s death in 1978 from a heart attack. After her husband left, Jędrusik was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church, played in theater performances and took care of stray cats. She knowingly took animals under her roof, which contributed to her death. She died on the night of August 7-8, 1991, of an asthma attack caused by allergies.
