Is it possible to organize a quick wedding? I’m not talking about the simple signing of documents at the office, which we can do even in a tracksuit, then lunch for a few people and then go home. Here the situation is rather simple and not as complicated as in the case of organizing a more standard wedding, which most Poles choose. To find out what it looks like in practice, I looked at various thematic groups, called and asked.
In my research, I included several service providers from a given category, from various towns in Poland – both larger and smaller. I aimed a bit at random, based on recommendations from groups, as well as my own knowledge and that of those around me. I asked about the availability of dates this year or next year, as well as what kind of expenses the bride and groom should expect.
It turned out that I didn’t get a negative answer when it came to deadlines. Of course, there is no point in fooling yourself that if you choose a date and there will be a window. Especially considering the fact that the dates must be coordinated with the office or church, hall and other service providers. However, the door is not closed. There is, of course, a greater chance of finding a convenient date next year, but you can still get a few slots this year as well. And not necessarily on a Thursday in November.
Wedding in 2024 – what are the costs?
The civil wedding itself is free, however, officials charge not very high costs for preparing a marriage certificate (PLN 84) and possibly preparing other documents, e.g. an additional shortened copy of the same certificate (PLN 22). If we are planning an outdoor wedding, we have to pay PLN 1,000. When it comes to church wedding, here invariably “whatever you please” – so we will not discuss this issue.
Wedding halls Currently, they have the greatest availability on days other than Saturdays, although there are also free Saturdays. These were single dates in the middle of the wedding season or at the very end, in October or November. Prices may vary depending on date. The lowest amount for a plate was PLN 290/person, the highest was PLN 345.
In terms of photographic service the prices proposed by several professionals were quite similar. Although, of course, a lot depends on what package we choose, whether we are also interested in video recording, etc. The amounts for the least extensive option amounted to PLN 3,300 on average.

Prices per musical setting parties can be much more diverse. A DJ who works solo gives a different amount and a team consisting of several people gives a different amount. The stakes are additionally raised by the skills and expectations towards musicians: if they only play songs – the amount will be lower, if they host a party and have fun – we have to pay more. The deadline is also important. On average, the lowest price for DJ services I received was PLN 4,000. In terms of the team, the amounts range between PLN 6,200 and 8,600.
I guess most women also decide to do so professional makeup and hairstyle. We can arrange with people who provide these services separately or combine them. However, you should remember about processing capacity – if you want make-up and hairstyle for yourself, your maid of honor, your mother, your mother-in-law, etc., one specialist may not be able to do the job. For simplicity, here are the prices for combined services. These vary depending on the locality. In larger cities, a hair + makeup package costs up to PLN 600, in smaller cities prices range between PLN 390 and 480.
It is worth remembering that my research concerned several service providers from each category. Prices in other places may of course be different. They may also change depending on the date.
How much does a wedding for 100 people cost in 2024?

We are increasingly opting for slightly smaller weddings. No longer for 250 people, but rather for 100 or even less. So how much would a wedding reception for 100 people be organized today? I took into account the lowest prices I received from service providers. Of course, other individual expenses should be added here, including: flowers, clothes, decorations, alcohol, wedding rings, country table, accommodation for some guests, car rental, etc. I have included the basic issues in the price list below.
- Civil wedding: PLN 84
- Room: PLN 290/person. x 100 = PLN 29,000
- Photographer: PLN 3,300
- Musical setting: PLN 4,000
- Makeup/hairstyle: PLN 390
We would have to pay PLN 36,774 for these basic expenses. If we tightened our budget, limited major expenses, such as alcohol, a wedding dress straight from the salon or gold wedding rings, and took into account the advice I have included below, perhaps the total amount would be PLN 40,000 and we would be able to organize a wedding without having to take out a loan. And maybe even the costs would be recouped when counting the money from the envelopes. Although – at least in principle – such a party is not organized to “make money”.
A quick wedding in 2024 – a handful of tips:
- It’s worth remembering that many service providers, such as a photographer, make-up artist and music band, offer transport within the voivodeship and even throughout Poland. So if your local DJ doesn’t have any available dates, it’s worth asking around.
- There is no point in fooling yourself, prices are constantly rising and typical wedding services are no exception. Several service providers have told me they plan to raise their wages next year. If we want to get married quickly and save money, it is worth considering this year even more. Many people also have free dates on Fridays or Sundays. With today’s demand, closing only on Saturdays is no longer possible.
- Thematic groups are incredibly helpful in organizing a wedding. The engaged couple share their ideas and often recommend service providers. They are also present on these groups, which is why some people write posts straight from the top: “I am looking for a photographer for June 22, 2024, in Łódź” and the research is done by itself.
- If we buy something with the note “wedding”, we can expect that the price will be much higher than we would expect. Not everyone is aware that items for one occasion can be bought much cheaper. Just search portals where used things are sold. For pennies you can buy decorations, veils, props for children’s games and caps, and even wedding dresses and suits..
