Warner Bros. Discovery showed the first trailer for the prequel series “Dune”. Work on the production about the fate of sisters Valya and Tula Harkonnen began two years ago under the leadership of director Johan Renck.
HBO Max showed the first trailer of “Dune: Prophecy”
It quickly turned out that the filmmaker’s vision of the series did not coincide with the one pursued by the HBO Max producers. As a result, Renck and one of the main stars of “Dune: The Prophecy” resigned from work on the production even before the creators managed to shoot the pilot episode. The six-episode prequel was ultimately directed by Anna Foerster, responsible for such titles as “Westworld” and “Outlander”.
So far, it is known that “Dune: Prophecy” will be available on HBO Max this fall, but Warner Bros. Discovery has not announced an official release date yet. The trailer released online shows that the atmosphere of the prequel series will be very similar to that presented to viewers by Denis Villeneuve in the previous two parts.
The cast of the series includes Emily Watson (“Chernobyl”), Olivia Williams (“The Crown”), Travis Fimmel, Johdi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis , Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason and Shalom Brune-Franklin.
Let us recall that the second part of “Dune” directed by Denis Villeneuve was released in cinemas in February this year. HBO Max announced that the production will be added to its offer on May 21. This means that subscribers to the website will be able to watch the film without additional fees.
