“Debate of the Day” on Polsat News is a program in which you can watch the clash of arguments between representatives of different political parties with often extremely different views. Host Agnieszka Gozdyra discusses with guests the current political situation in the country. This was also the case this time. Those present in the studio were actively discussing the migration pact, and the atmosphere was becoming more and more tense by the minute.
Brawl at Polsat News. The journalist stood up
Gozdyra’s guests in one of the last programs were Marek Sawicki from PSL, Krzysztof Śmiszek from the Left, Krystian Kamiński from Konfederacja and Waldemar Buda from PiS. When the host mentioned smugglers who send refugees on boats that are unsuitable for navigation, the Left MP changed his tone. – Today, the directive is being discussed at the EU level. I know what I’m talking about because I am working on behalf of the Ministry of Justice on this directive to intensify punishment for all smugglers who take advantage of human misfortune for money and engage in smuggling, said Śmiszek.
We didn’t have to wait long for Waldemar Buda from PiS to react. The politician interrupted his speech and started mocking the representative of the Left and made a scandalous comment. – I confirm that Mr. Śmiszek knows what he is talking about, because his husband or wife, Mr. Biedroń, voted for the migration pact – the politician referred to Krzysztof Śmiszek’s relationship with Robert Biedroń.
“For God’s sake, why did you say that?” Gozdyra couldn’t stand it
– You are simply an idiot, a homophobe and you should not appear in public space – Śmiszek shouted in Buda’s face, adding that the PiS politician behaved “like a boor.” Those present in the studio were surprised by the turn of events, and the program host reacted to Buda’s words immediately. – I want you to apologize – she said to the PiS MP. The emotions were so great that Gozdyra got up and approached Buda. – For God’s sake, why did you say that? – she said.
Buda apologized to the Leftist politician and at the same time accused Śmiszek of having “bragged” about his orientation so far, and now he is suddenly “ashamed” of it. The Polsat News journalist did not hide her outrage that the conversation had veered into such inappropriate directions. At one point, she even asked the program producers to stop the discussion so that the interlocutors could “rest for a while.” – Please don’t do such things in my program again – she said to Buda, who did not react to the comments and continued the monologue.
“Even though it’s 2024, sometimes we feel like we’re back in the 90s with this disgusting language. Well, change has never come easy. But we can do it!” – Krzysztof Śmiszek wrote on social media after the program was broadcast and thanked for the support.
