Disney+ will film the first Polish series. Filming for “Breslau” has started

Filming has started for “Breslau”, the first Polish Disney+ original series. The eight-episode production will feature Tomasz Schuchardt, Agata Kulesza and Sandra Drzymalska.

On Tuesday, Disney+ announced the start of filming of the first Polish production produced by the platform. The script for the eight-episode series was created in cooperation with Bartosz Janiszewski and Magdalena Żakowska. The cast of “Breslau” included, among others, Agata Kulesza, known from the Oscar-winning “Ida”, Tomasz Schuchardt, who in 2012 starred in the famous film “You Are God”, and Sandra Drzymalska, who in 2022 played in the Oscar-nominated drama “IO “.

What will “Breslau” talk about?

The plot of the series will take viewers to pre-war Wrocław (Breslau), where a brutal murder takes place. The determined commissioner Franz Podolsky tries to solve the mystery of the crime. He must face the time pressure resulting from the rapidly approaching Olympic Games.

“Breslau” will be the first Polish production produced by Disney+. “This is an important moment for Disney+ in Poland. This is our first original production in this part of Europe. We are very happy that such valued, talented and experienced creators and actors are working on this project. Thanks to the series with the working title “Breslau”, a wide range of productions intended for adult viewers will be even wider,” said Magdalena Cieślak, Director of Original Productions at Disney+ in Central and Eastern Europe.

The series is produced by ATM Grupa, which has produced titles such as “Wataha”, “Keep Calm” and “Absolutni debutants”. So far, the premiere date of “Breslau” is unknown.
