Eurovision 2024. We know the results. Israel was shockingly high among the viewers, but it wasn’t enough for the podium

Eurovision 2024 is behind us. The victory of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest belongs to Switzerland!

2024 passed in a very tense atmosphere. All thanks to Israel, which the European Broadcasting Union did not remove from the competition. Although the EBU declares that the competition is apolitical, some fans of the event accuse the organization of double standards. When Russia attacked Ukraine, Putin’s country could not send a representative to Eurovision.

Eurovision 2024. Emotions reached their peak even before the final

Israel’s presence sparked protests in Malmo. Before the second semi-final, thousands of people with Palestinian flags took to the streets of the city. It is worth recalling that at least 35,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel began its invasion of Palestine in October last year. The open war is a revenge for the terrorist attack carried out by Hamas – the terrorists killed 1,139 Israeli civilians and kidnapped others. For several months, Israel has been attacking, in addition to military targets, hospitals, refugee camps and residential districts in response – in many people’s opinion a decidedly disproportionate response.

Another scandal broke out just before the Eurovision final. The representative of the Netherlands, Joost Klein, was disqualified from participating in the competition on Saturday. The EBU issued a statement regarding the singer who allegedly committed violence against one of the people working at the concert in Malmo. Klein’s “Europapa” was one of the favorites in the competition. Further problems arose during the dress rehearsal for the final, where Bambie Thug, the representative of Ireland, was absent. In turn, French Slimane shortened his attempt

Just like in the semi-finals, the audience responded with enthusiasm to the performances of France and Spain. However, the victory of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest belongs to Nemo and the song “The Code”, which scored as many as 591 points. Israel was off the podium, although the country scored quite a lot of points from the audience.
