If you like interesting cinema with thrills, you cannot ignore the American horror film “Barbarian”. The film directed by Zach Cregger was released in 2022 and gained great recognition from viewers around the world. In Poland, it is in 4th place in the top 10 most watched films on Netflix as of May 10, 2024. What is the movie “Barbarian” about? Netflix presents us with a dark story

“Barbarian” was filmed two years ago, and is only now reaching the peak of interest from viewers around the world. Jest is the story of a woman who comes to Detroit for a job interview. Instead of a hotel, he decides to rent accommodation from a private person. Once there, it turns out that she is not the only tenant, and the house was previously rented by a mysterious man. Despite these circumstances, the woman decides to stay at home, which will quickly turn out to have tragic consequences. PThe problem of double booking is nothing compared to what is waiting for her in the basement.

Will “Barbarian” find its place next to such classics as “The Omen” or “Friday the 13th”? There are many indications of this

The horror narrative was conducted in such a way as to surprise the viewer from the beginning to the end. Even though we come to certain conclusions while watching, they are quickly buried by a sudden twist in the plot. This is what critics and viewers appreciate the most. We can see high-quality films on many websites, which translates into greater and greater interest. The film received a 94% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it received 6.2 stars and received numerous comments:

The film confirms the thesis that we are most afraid of what we do not know or see. Very good, fresh, strong horror.

With the horror poverty we’ve had for a long time, it’s definitely worth your time to watch this movie. (…) A solid 7/10 for me

There are, of course, also less flattering opinions:

About halfway through, the film promises to be a decent, interesting horror film. Then it is a picture of misery, despair and disbelief that everything that was built in the beginning could be ruined so badly.

The storm in the comments perfectly shows that there are as many opinions as there are viewers. It’s worth watching and seeing for yourself whether this film has a chance to stand alongside the classics of this genre. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
