Polish ones have taken the streaming platform by storm. Viewers have recently become particularly fond of as many as 5 productions. On May 9, they were in the TOP10. So if you haven’t watched them yet, you definitely need to catch up.
Two Polish films are on the top podium. “The Hunt” and “The Influencer’s Girl” conquered Netflix
Not only this week, but also the May weekend belongs to the film “Hunting”, which has now jumped to number one. It is a political thriller inspired by real events. Through the eyes of the main character we can see the darkness of the lives of those in power. We get to know them from the level of the mayor’s position, which became a small-town entrepreneur – Michał Król. A series of unfortunate events place him in the middle of a destructive spiral, where deception, trickery and even threats are a daily occurrence. When faced with the loss of everything you love, can you have the strength to fight the system? The film directed by Paweł Chmielewski is worth seeing not only because of its engaging plot. The star cast of Artur Barciś, Ewa Kasprzyk, Michał Czarnecki and Magdalena Walach will provide us with excellent evening entertainment.
Right behind it, in second place, was Szymon Gonera’s film, “The Influencer’s Girl”. It is a social drama describing the life of Zosia, a rising internet star who one day discovers her boyfriend’s affair. When he receives an offer to travel abroad from Viola, a famous influencer, he agrees without hesitation. Women use sponsors’ money to visit many foreign resorts and strive for reach and attention of fans at every step. Over time, it turns out that Zosia’s decision has many serious consequences, and the life she now leads is not a bed of roses. We will see Karina Rezner and Olga Kalicka in the main roles.
“Baby Boom, or Kogel Mogel 5” or “Piep*zyć Mickiewicza” in the top 10 on Netflix. There is one more film at the top
The representation of domestic cinema in this ranking is truly noteworthy. “Baby Boom, i.e. Kogel Mogel” took 6th place. The next part of the well-known film tells about the further adventures of the Wolański and Zawada families. This time the main topic is parenting and the conflicts related to it. 8th place goes to the film “Wodecki, I like to go back to where I was”, which is a biography about the famous and popular Zbigniew Wodecki. The artist’s story was told through the memories of people around him. In place 9 was a film by Sara Bustamante-Drozdek titled “Fuck Mickiewicz”. It tells the story of a lecturer expelled from a university who finds employment at a high school in Warsaw. Under his wing comes young people with problems who deeply respect all principles and science. See for yourself whether a teacher armed with understanding, literature and huge amounts of patience will gain the attention of rebellious teenagers.
