It is like “the second Croatia”, but without the crowds and expensive prices. Discover this gem before others do

Summer is fast approaching and with it holidays, many people are starting to plan their holidays. If you dream of Croatian atmosphere, but you don’t want to wade through crowds of tourists and pay a lot, choose another gem on the map of Europe. You will be delighted.

Montenegro is a small and youngest country located in Southern Europe. It has only recently gained popularity among tourists, which means that it is not visited by crowds, while the diversity of the terrain guarantees that everyone will find something for themselves. No wonder they call it the second Croatia.

It is called “the second Croatia”. It delights with its beaches and mountain landscapes

Montenegro has beautiful, long, sandy beaches, majestic mountains full of interesting trails that you can walk on for days, charming small towns, bays, canyons, lakes and stunning national parks. Lovers of monuments and interesting things will also find something for themselves here. It is relatively warm here all year round, although it is estimated that the average temperature exceeds 20 degrees from May to October, of which it is usually really hot during the holiday period. The country is small because its area is 13,812 m22, which means that it is slightly larger than the Silesian Voivodeship, but smaller than the Lubuskie Voivodeship. Despite this, it has everything you need for both a blissful and active holiday.

What is worth visiting in Montenegro? You will find everything here

When going to Montenegro, it is worth taking both a swimsuit and trekking shoes. Especially since mountainous areas occupy most of the country, and the views from them are truly breathtaking. The Cursed Mountains are particularly noteworthy. Both advanced hikers and beginners will find interesting trails. The highest peak is Zla Kolata (2534 m above sea level). As for less advanced trips, you cannot miss the UNESCO-listed Bay of Kotor with its stunning scenery and charming towns. It looks just like a fjord, although technically it is not. National parks should also be on your to-see list. There are five of them in Montenegro and each has extraordinary views to offer. Another interesting point on the map is the Tara River canyon with the characteristic Durdevića Bridge. If you like the bustle of the city, don’t miss towns such as Budva (nearby you will also find the kilometer-long Jaz), Ulcinj or Bar.

Montenegro not only in summer. It is also worth coming here in winter

It is worth knowing that Montenegro has a lot to offer not only in the summer months, but also in the winter, as it has really great slopes. Fans of skiing, snowboarding and sledding will be delighted. In addition, you can still walk on trails (of course with appropriate equipment and preparation) or use cross-country skiing. It is relatively flat, especially in the vicinity of Żablijak. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
