Luna entered the first semi-final as sixth – between the representatives of Ukraine and Croatia. Both songs were well-reviewed before the concert. It’s not easy to stand out in such company. The Gazeta.pl journalist presenting the live report commented on the performance of the Polish representative:
I was afraid of the high sounds, but here you can hear that you had to be afraid of the low notes. The chorus is beautiful, the verses… It could have been better. But Luna, I’m sending you lots of love, I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that you captivated the viewers in Europe and you’ll get their votes.
Who is on Luna’s team?
The authors of “The Tower” are Maxwell Cooke and Paul Fyfe Dixon, as well as Luna herself. During the competition, the singer is supported vocally on stage by Maciej Starnawski, whom fans of the competition may recognize from his participation in the preselections for Eurovision 2008, and Marta Dywicka. The dancers dressed as chess pieces certainly attracted attention on stage. These are Julia Żytko (finalist of “You Can Dance – Po Prostu Tańcz”), Angus Simpson and Jordan Garcia. The scenography was complemented by huge chess towers.
Lukas McFarlane and Kamila Zalewska are behind the choreography prepared for Luna’s performance. The director of the Polish woman’s performance is Jerry Reeve, who – as Artur Orzech noted during the broadcast on TVP 1 – has “several Eurovision successes and probably one failure”.
The way Luna herself, as well as the people accompanying her, presented herself is thanks to stylist Karina Wacławik. The creator of the visualizations seen by viewers in Malmo and on television is Marcin Wania, and Artur Szyman is responsible for the lighting.
