Jacek Zieliński passed away at the age of 78. For years, he performed in the band “Skaldowie”, which he founded together with Zygmunt Kaczmarski, Janusz Kaczmarski, Feliks Naglicki, Jerzy Fasiński and his brother Andrzej Zieliński in 1965 in Krakow.
Friends and family said goodbye to the outstanding musician in touching words. Many media returned to his legendary songs, emphasizing that the songs of “Skaldów” as well as Jacek Zieliński’s solo performances were sung by almost all generations for decades. The unique artist left behind his loved ones in despair: his beloved wife Halina, daughter, son and grandchildren.

Not everyone knows that the marriage of Jacek and Halina Zieliński lasted over half a century. It was interrupted by the artist’s death. In a recent article, the magazine recalled the beginnings of their relationship. It turned out that the couple caught each other’s eye during college. The artist once recalled these times in an interview with the “People i Faith” newspaper.
I was in the first year of the Academy of Music in Krakow, my wife was studying architecture. Halinka’s friend celebrated her birthday and we were invited. We felt sympathy for each other and started spending a lot of time together. My wife failed in her exams and had to change her university. She graduated from the Pedagogical University, but did not work as a teacher. She was simply a wonderful wife, mother, and took care of the house, for which I am grateful
– said the musician.
The long-term marriage of Halina and Jacek Zieliński was proof of how much love and respect they had for each other. The couple often spoke about each other in touching and loving words. In an interview with “People i Faith” Jacek Zieliński was asked, among others, what is their recipe for such a long, happy married life. The musician replied that being “consistent” and “responsible” is probably important.

– One falls in love, but the infatuation fades quickly. Youth and beauty are also gone. But I think that if I chose this woman, it’s for life, and if something went wrong, I’m exchanging it for a better or newer model. After all, this is the same man I once loved (…). In my opinion, with age, love becomes less intuitive and more real. It does not decrease at all, but increases and becomes more beautiful. We already know that we are together for better and for worse. Let’s hope it lasts as long as possible – he said in a moving statement.
Once upon a time, the couple showed their home in the program “Zacisze Gwiazd” on Polish Television. Later, in an interview with the Catholic weekly “Niedziela”, the couple recalled not only the moments from filming the program, but also the moment when their children were born. The artist’s wife recalled that she was a bit stricter than her husband. After all, she often had to be left alone with her children while her beloved performed on stages in various places
My husband would go away for several months, or even a year, and I had to cope on my own
– said Mrs. Halina then. The couple’s children remember their childhood in rosy colors. They claimed that their parents gave them a lot of freedom, even though they were not always polite. Both Mrs. Halina and Jacek Zieliński also poured great love on their grandchildren. They admitted that they cannot be strict with them and spoil all five of them – we could learn from the conversation in “Zacisze Gwiazd”.
