Kryñska in “DDTVN”. She tells how she found out about cancer: “The red light goes on”

At the beginning of March, Joanna Kryńska announced on TVN that she was suffering from cancer. The presenter had to undergo surgery to remove a brain tumor. The procedure was a success, and the journalist said that the results of the histopathological examination make her optimistic. Over the last few weeks, Kryńska has been recovering surrounded by her loved ones. At the beginning of May, the presenter appeared in the “Dzień Dobry TVN” program, where she talked about the diagnosis, the treatment process and how she reacted to the news about the disease.

Joanna Kryńska found out about the cancer when she received the MRI results. The journalist also underwent blood tests, which showed that she had an incorrect prolactin result. Kryńska went to the doctor after she noticed disturbing symptoms. The journalist had problems with concentration and recurrent headaches that made it difficult for her to function daily. “The red light on the camera turns on and I look at the camera and I don’t know anything. The only thing I said was: I was going to tell you something, but I forgot. It was something that worried me very much,” she said on “Dzień Dobry TVN”.

The tests showed that the presenter had a tumor of about 5 centimeters in size, pressing on the speech apparatus. When she learned the diagnosis, she decided to completely cut herself off from outside information. “I decided – and this is probably good advice for everyone – not to read a million websites, not to check what a brain tumor is and how it can end,” she continued. Instead, Kryńska trusted the doctors, and it was good for her. “After the surgery, I have a second life. What have I learned…? That you have to trust, more than I trusted… If something worries you, worries you, hurts strangely – do like I did – don’t leave it. Get checked out!” – she said in “Dzień Dobry TVN”.
