According to Wirtualna Polska, the first episode of the series was watched by an average of 2.03 million viewers, the second by 1.9, and the third by 1.89. Although “Matylda” is very popular, it is not known whether the station will decide to film further episodes.

The script for the public broadcaster’s production was written by Ilona Łepkowska, whose credits include such productions as “Klan” and “M jak miłość”. In an interview with “Super Express” she admitted that the future of “Matilda” is very uncertain for now, although the script for the second series was created much earlier. The reason for this situation, according to the screenwriter, is the lack of financial resources for the production of new productions.
“What can I say? They don’t have any money yet, so the second part of the series “Matylda”, which was written by the script team under my supervision, will have to wait, if it is made at all. Although the first season was very popular,” Ilona said Łepkowska in an interview with “Super Express”.
Currently, TVP is suspending the production of the second season of “Matylda”, although the continuation of the series was only a matter of time.
“A second series has been ordered, there are thirteen episodes written and approved, but there is no money and generally speaking, this will be the main problem. Until this is resolved, there is uncertainty… this time is quite difficult for everyone who is involved with television they cooperate. And it is the largest broadcaster in Poland and so far it was one of the largest producers,” explained Łepkowska.
Subsequent episodes are broadcast every Sunday at 8:20 p.m. The season finale is scheduled for Sunday, June 2. The production tells the story of 17-year-old Matylda, who grows up in post-war Poland. The girl is drawn into the middle of landowner intrigues.
