Aleksandra ¦ląska fired actresses whom her husband liked, and she herself gave him reasons to be jealous

There was a lot of talk about Aleksandra ¦ląska’s relationship with young actors. What added fuel to the fire was the fact that she herself was very jealous of her husband Janusz Warmiñski, the director of the Ateneum Theater. If her husband liked one of the theater actresses “too much”, Śląska quickly dealt with her.

Aleksandra Śląska, an icon of the Polish theater and film scene, was not only an outstanding actress, but also a figure shrouded in an aura of scandal and intrigue. Her private and professional life was full of passion, rivalry and jealousy, which influenced the formation of the Theater Ateneum in Warsawsometimes called the “Silesian-Warmia Basin” due to the dominant influence of Aleksandra and her husband, Janusz Warmiński.

Aleksandra Śląska: Love, power and jealousy

Aleksandra’s first marriage to Czesław Górski, although it started romantically, did not stand the test of time. The actress, wanting to devote herself to art, decided to get a divorce in order to devote herself entirely. Shortly thereafter, her professional and private life began to intertwine in the person of Janusz Warmiński, director of the Ateneum Theater. Aleksandra Śląska, known for her characteristic cold blonde beauty, had a talent for attracting the attention of both the audience and her colleagues. Her marriage to Janusz Warmiński was not only a union of two people, but also an alliance aimed at domination in the theater world. Śląska was the heart and soul of the Ateneum Theater, which often put her in conflict situations with other actresses, whom she saw as a threat to her position.

Rivals on stage

Aleksandra, having a large influence on casting decisions, she not only promoted her favorites, but also eliminated actresses who could pose competition or threaten her position at her husband’s side. There was a lot of talk about Monika Dzienisiewicz being thrown out of the theater because of her jealousy towards Warmiński. Another more significant incident is her reaction to Janusz’s infatuation with the young actress Grażyna Barszczewska. Aleksandra, not wanting to tolerate competition, decided to end her theater career at the Ateneum. She tolerated no rivals. She was able to easily remove them from the band’s list, which for many young talents could have meant the end of their dreams of a great stage career.

Rumors about her affairs

Her relationships with younger men were equally controversial, especially with Jerzy Kamąs, whose talent and beauty caught her attention. Despite the significant age difference, Śląska attracted Kamasa to the Ateneum, where they became one of the most famous duos on stage. The rumors about them never died down, although both denied that they had anything more than a professional relationship.

Another intriguing chapter in her life was the relationship with Jacek Borkowski, a young actor whose career gained momentum thanks to Aleksandra. It was said that Borkowski reminded Śląska of her youthful love. Despite rumors and suggestions that Borkowski was taking advantage of an older mentor, they both maintained that their relationship was purely platonic.

Despite numerous storms and passions, the marriage of Śląska and Warmiński survived until the end of Aleksandra’s life, who died in 1989 after a short battle with cancer. Janusz Warmiński, despite many difficulties, never stopped loving his wife, which he confirmed until the end of his days.
