There’s nothing like lying down in a comfortable and clean bed after a hard day. Fresh, beautifully scented bedding is the perfect way to get a good night’s sleep. In summer, due to high temperatures and increased sweating, you may do this more often. We advise you at what temperature to wash bedding to get rid of all bacteria.

How to wash bedding in a washing machine? Remember a few rules

First of all, bedding cannot be washed with other fabrics. Do not throw it into the washing machine together with underwear, clothes or towels. Each of these materials has different requirements. Additionally, bedding made of different fabrics require washing in different conditions. For example, a satin fabric may be damaged if you wash it with a flannel fabric. Also remember to separate the colors. White bedding is washed separately from colored bedding. Before putting the fabric into the washing machine, turn it inside out and fasten the zippers and buttons.

Thanks to this, the fabric will not wrinkle and you will not have to bother with ironing it later. Do not dry the bedding in the dryer, as high temperatures may destroy its fibers. It is best to take the material out into the fresh air and let it dry freely, e.g. on the balcony. You will see that you will sleep even better with the bedding you bring from the manor.

At what degrees should you wash bedding? Pay attention to the type of material

The temperature of the bedding is very important. If you want to get rid of dirt, mites and microorganisms, you should wash the fabric in hot water. The best temperature for washing cotton and linen bedding is 60 degrees C. In the case of satin bedding it is 40-60 degrees C, flannel bedding 40 degrees C and silk bedding 30 degrees C. Of course, before putting the fabric into the washing machine, pay attention to what is written on the label. The information contained there is basic. Spinning should be gentle, preferably 400 revolutions. Do you want the bedding to be soft and pleasant to the skin? Instead of fabric softener, pour 4 tablespoons of vinegar into the chamber. It has antibacterial and disinfecting properties. If you feel like it, vote in our poll below.
