Probably not everyone knows about it, but in Poland we have as many as 47, most of which are located in the Lower Silesian and Lesser Poland voivodeships. These are 11 and 10 health resorts. In turn, by far the most popular, and at the same time the largest, is located in Kołobrzeg. It also enjoys considerable popularity among patients, among others: Krynica-Zdrój, Lądek-Zdrój or Ciechocinek. At any time of the year, you can meet crowds of tourists who want to take advantage of the benefits offered. Wapienne is a small but charming village located in the south of Poland, more precisely in the central part of the picturesque Beskid Niski. In 2021 only 148 people. Despite its small size, it has been a health resort since 1986 and has a lot to offer. Wapienne itself, as a settlement, was founded in 1546, and already in the 17th century, attempts were made to use the medicinal properties found in its area. According to available information, in the 19th century there was a spa facility in the village, which consisted of three villas with 50 bathing stations. It continued to develop over the following years.

The plant survived both the First and Second World Wars. Despite the enormous destruction, it was rebuilt and resumed operations. Finally, in 1986, Wapienne was recognized as a health resort, but it was overshadowed by, among others, through Krynica-Zdrój, has only been popular for a dozen or so years. Especially since a general renovation took place here from 2010 to 2014, after which the spa underwent a thorough and comprehensive revitalization, and at the same time, among others, water pump room. Moderately mineralized sulphide-hydrogen sulphide waters and mud are used here. The resort also has a salt cave, swimming pools and even tennis courts.

The center in Wapienne is not the only advantage of this town. Lovers of outdoor activities will also find many attractions here. The picturesque location in the Low Beskid Mountains means that even from the center of the village you can go to one of the picturesque Magura National Park. The closest peak is Ferdel with an observation tower, which can be reached via a somewhat circuitous red-green trail or a shorter, black trail.
