Filip P³awiak cannot complain about the lack of roles lately. He played in the famous film “White Courage” by Marcin Koszałka and the extremely popular Netflix series “Rojst”. Previously, viewers could see the actor in “Chyłka”, the anthology “Planeta Singlii. Eight Stories”, “Wołyń” or the third installment of “Letters to M”.
Filip Pławiak failed to get into acting school twice
Today, Pławiak’s skills are noticed by critics and film creators, but as it turns out, the actor had problems with getting into acting schools in both Krakow and Wrocław. The artist was a guest on the “WojewódzkiKędzierski” podcast, where he talked about, among other things, his school experiences.
What may surprise some people, because he does not fit the stereotype of a humanities actor, Pławiak studied in a mathematics and IT class. And he wanted to connect his professional future with computer science, but eventually he applied to an acting school.
– Logical thinking and analytical skills that I have left from those mathematical days are very useful – he admitted in the interview. Today, a strict mind helps an actor look at texts cooler and helps control emotions.
“It knocked me out of rhythm.”
When Pławiak decided he wanted to become a professional actor, it turned out to be a difficult path. He didn’t get into acting school in Wrocław or Kraków, but started his studies in Łódź. – In Krakow, from the very beginning it was important that I had good pronunciation and a well-placed voice. I didn’t have a good voice, I still don’t have it, I don’t have good pronunciation either – recalls the actor.
In Wrocław, Pławiak failed the exam due to his too long language, which the examiner did not like. – There was a situation in Wrocław when you came out and said that Mr. This threw me off my rhythm. I entered and the first thing I said was that there was an error in my documents, because my name was Pławiak. It was the elocution guy. I repeated all the puzzles, I was delighted and proud that I would definitely be on [egzaminie] motor. I changed into my costume and… I heard that I had failed the previous exam – said the actor in the podcast.
