Andrzej Rosiewicz is a great figure on the Polish music scene. Everyone remembers his hits, such as “Chłopcy radarowcy” or “Do you feel the cha-cha”. However, not everyone knows that in 1994 the artist fell madly in love with a woman 23 years his junior. They are still married and have three wonderful children.

Andrzej Rosiewicz is a Polish stage singer, composer, dancer and satirist. He gained enormous fame during the times of the Polish People’s Republic. In 1978, he focused on a solo career and since then he has devoted himself entirely to creating music. Our grandparents’ generation loves him for songs such as “Do you feel the cha-cha”, “Chłopcy radarowcy”, “Zenek blues”, “Wincenty Kalemba” and “Forty years have passed…” from the opening credits of the series “Czterdziestolatka” from 1975 .

During the times of “Solidarity”, Andrzej Rosiewicz took part in the True Song Festival in Gdańsk, performing “Propaganda of Success”. This performance was then identified with the voice of the anti-communist opposition. Although his musical career was a success, his private life was not always going well. At least for some time, because many years ago there was a breakthrough in the musician’s life.

Not everyone knows that in 1994 Andrzej Rosiewicz fell in love with a woman 23 years his junior. They got married 3 years later. They are still married today and have three wonderful children. Each child followed in their parents’ musical footsteps.

Andrzej Rosiewicz fell in love with Iwona, 23 years his junior

Iwona, whom Andrzej Rosiewicz met at the Miss Rzeszów Region contest, was also involved in music. For the artist, it was a great turn in his life. Love at first sight and common passions and interests immediately helped them find a common language.

We met during the Miss Rzeszów Region competition, but Iwonka did not take part in the competition, she just sat in the audience. She immediately caught my eye. Then we met at a banquet, exchanged phones and started dating. She was a pretty and musically talented blonde. It still is

– Andrzej Rosiewicz once said in an interview with “Dobry Tygodnik”.

It so happened that suddenly a beautiful lady sat down next to me. I struck up a conversation and it turned out he was from Krakow. We came to an agreement. I said: ‘Oh, from Krakow? Maybe I’ll show you the Palace of Culture? And she: ‘And I will show you the Cloth Hall on the Krakow market square’

– he recalled in an interview with rad 104.7 FM. They met at a time when Andrzej Rosiewicz had no specific plans for the future. Today, the most important thing to him is family, but in the past, fate was different.

I was 50 years old and still living with my mother. I finally realized that the scene is terribly possessive, stealing time and feelings

– he recalled in one of the interviews.

Andrzej Rosiewicz’s children followed in their father’s footsteps

Although family is now the first priority for him, Andrzej Rosiewicz does not intend to abandon his musical career. – There is a pension, but only formally, because the concept itself is completely alien to me. It is very important in life not to grow up, to remain young and boyish. That’s why I repeat, don’t grow up! And still be beautiful and young, which is what I wish for you too – he once said in an interview with “Fakt”.

Andrzej Rosiewicz is also very proud of his children. – The oldest one, Jędrzej, plays the piano, Adam plays the cello, and Ircia plays the transverse flute. Recently we played a medley of The Beatles songs together. Maybe one day we will perform as a family, the 79-year-old artist once said.
