Cut the onion in half and spear it with a fork. You will save time and money before the May weekend

May Day 2024 is just a few days away. How to clean the grill grate from soot and burns? One vegetable will solve the problem. In a few minutes you will get rid of all dirt and the grill will be as good as new.

The May weekend is fast approaching. So it’s time to start proper preparations. The weather will be favorable to spend this time in the bosom of nature and at the same time organize a long-awaited feast in the garden or on the plot. It’s time to vacuum and clean the grill and its individual parts, including the grate.

What is the best way to clean an old grate? The best way to clean your grill

Recently, I discovered a useful trick for cleaning the grill with the help of a solution. It turns out that it can cope with dirt very well without using a wire brush or grill scraper. Instead, just use a cut on half a large onion (any type) to scrub off any leftover burnt bits from the grill.

  1. Preheat the grill to a high temperature so that stuck food pieces can be easily removed.
  2. Cut the onion in half and pierce it with a large fork or meat fork. Pierce the onion deep enough to hold it firmly on the fork.
  3. Rub the cut side of the onion against the grill grates. Using a back and forth motion, scrub the onion along the grates. The juices will create the steam needed to remove the charred bits from the grill.
