“Va banque” is a Polish game show based on the American format “Jeopardy!”. In Poland, it has been broadcast since 1996 on TVP2. The program was on hiatus since 2003, and returned to television 4 years ago. The first host was Kazimierz Kaczor, and in 2020 he was replaced by Przemysław Babiarz, but from 2024 the new host of the program is Radosław Kotarski, who runs the Polimaty channel on YouTube.

In a recent episode, there was an issue regarding the popular Internet plebiscite for “Jug of the Year”, and the answer was worth PLN 800. “Awarded by Michał Marszał and Make Life Harder to a person whose activities and behavior regularly upset Poles” was the prompt, but none of the participants could formulate the question.

He is not just a stupid person, because we have many idiots, and I have been stupid once, twice, three times in a year… But this is not a reason to call someone a jug. In my opinion, a pitcher is someone who, despite the fact that he is doing something stupid or, even worse, doesn’t know that he is doing something stupid, goes on with his head held high and does the same thing – explained Michał Marszał.
