The last episode brought not only emotions related to the high level of performances, but also controversies caused by the hostswhich definitely resonated widely in public opinion. The main point of the dispute was the comment of Agnieszka Woźniak-Starak, who referred to the President of Poland in an inappropriate way.
A moving performance and a tasteless joke
Marcin Zaprawa and Aleksandra Jurga moved everyone with their emotional performance about violence. After their show, Woźniak-Starak commented:
You must admit that Ola has facial expressions as rich as our president.
This statement was made clearly in the studio, which was visible in their reactions. Viewers on social media also did not hide their embarrassment: “Please, change the presenters. The jokes that no one understands, and the jury itself asks who should speak, because they don’t know… It’s hard to watch”, “The presenters are a tragedy. And these political plugs are distasteful and unnecessary” “Terrible biscuits, massacre… It’s often embarrassing. Seriously? Firstly, why politics, secondly, he is our president and he should not be ridiculed in such programs”, “Making fun of the president in public shows the host’s rudeness”. There was general dissatisfaction with attempts to weave political humor into entertainment programming.
Agnieszka Woźniak-Starak was not the only one…
That evening there were also performances that could have been better received without the controversial introductions of the hosts. Jan Pirowski, trying to introduce a light tone, also stumbled in his attempt at humor, saying before Filip Drogos’ performance:
When I was still a little boy, my friends and I would go for cream-filled tubes, years have passed, we still go for tubes with the boys, but the perspective has changed and the tubes have also changed.
Despite these mishaps, the program had its bright spots, such as the semi-final performance of MultiVisual and Astranate. a member of the jury, did not hide his delight, commenting: “I’ve been watching you for years, this isn’t your first time.” The joint show of both groups was a real display of skill and innovation, which stood out from the rest of the evening.
In addition, the second semi-final of “Got Talent” was full of great performances that deserved attention without controversy. Talents such as Tymoteusz Sobczyk, Michał Skubida, Teo Tomczuk and Filip Drogos, who impressed the jurors so much that he received the Platinum Button.
