After his role in “07 zgpowiedz się”, they called him “the Polish James Bond”. How did he react to it?

The crime series “07 zgpowiedz się” probably needs no introduction. It is one of the most popular productions produced and broadcast by Telewizja Polska in the years 1976-1989. It was directed by Krzysztof Szmagier, who also co-wrote the script for all ten series. The cast included a galaxy of the biggest stars, including: Jerzy Rogalski, , Zdzisław Kozień, Laura Łącz, , Katarzyna Walter and Zdzisław Tobiasz.

The biggest sensation, however, was Bronisław Cieślak, who created the character of Lieutenant Sławomir Borewicz on the screen. The role became a gateway to his career and the world of show business, and fans hailed him as the “Polish James Bond”. – It makes me laugh, but I don’t have the strength to protest anymore – in one of the interviews, adding that such comparisons make him quite embarrassed. – I never had such aspirations as Borewicz. Too high thresholds, not this currency, not these cars, only the girls we had were more beautiful than 007 – added the actor, whose success was partially repeated only thanks to the production of “Malanowski i Partnerzy” by Polsat.
