The International University of Valencia (VIU), an academic institution of the Planeta Group, has invested the communicator and journalist Vicente Vallés as an ‘honoris causa’ doctor. In his acceptance speech, the director and presenter of ‘Antena 3 Noticias 2’ highlighted the importance of journalism in democracy.
“Very often, we do not appreciate enough how fortunate we are to live in one of those countries, which are not so many in the world, where freedom rules, with leaders more or less respectful of the freedoms of the citizens or the truth, but in democracy,” Vicente Vallés claimed at the investiture ceremony, held at the Palau de l’Exposició de València.
The investiture session of Vallés as an ‘honoris causa’ doctor of the International University of Valencia has had the attendance and presence of the president of Atresmedia and Grupo Planeta, José Crehueras. The event has also been sponsored by the director of La Razón, Francisco Marhuendawho has highlighted the professional and personal values of Vicente Vallés.
“In his person, the old virtues that must characterize his profession but that are those of the university spirit come together: fidelity to the truth and commitment to society“, assured Marhuenda. “This act is a well-deserved recognition of his work and brilliant career,” added the director of La Razón.
