Filming of the feature film “Karmele” begins, directed by Asier Altuna

The filmmaker Asier Altuna (Amama, Wow Etxebeste!…) these days he is shooting his new feature film in Basque, Karmele, produced by Txintxua Films with the participation of EITB. The film will be shot until the end of May in Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa, Navarra and Lapurdi.

Actors Jone Laspiur and Eneko Sagardoy They give life to the couple formed by Karmele Urresti and Txomin Letamendi. They are accompanied by Nagore Aranburu and Javier Barandiaran in the roles of Karmele’s mother and father.

The film tells the story of Karmele (Jone Laspiur), a Basque nurse exiled in France in the late 1930s. There she will meet Txomin (Eneko Sagardoy), a virtuoso trumpet player, with whom she lives a story of love and political commitment between Paris, Caracas and Euskal Herria. Together they form a family and share an absolute complicity until the time comes to choose between loyalty to the family or to the ideas.
