The National Broadcasting Council took a close look at Red Carpet TV and two radio channels: VOX FM Gorzów and VOX FM Radom. As they inform, the analysis showed that these channels reported one thing when issuing licenses and presented another. Such irregularities – if not corrected – may lead to the withdrawal of the license issued by the National Broadcasting Council.
The National Broadcasting Council threatens to withdraw licenses for irregularities
According to the National Broadcasting Council, both radio stations allegedly used incomplete names during broadcasting (VOX FM instead of VOX FM Gorzów / Radom), which would mislead recipients. As a result of the analysis of the broadcasts, it was also calculated that less local content was broadcast than reported when applying for the license, and less journalism and entertainment programs than promised.
The allegations against Red Carpet TV mainly concern the percentage distribution of individual types of programs. The lack of information and journalism programs, which were promised when applying for a license, was made up with feature films. Both the radio channels and the TV channel now have time to rectify the irregularities. If they fail to do so and the next inspection reveals errors again, they may lose their broadcasting license.
The National Broadcasting Council routinely examines channels that receive a license from it. There have been many instances in recent years where problems in this matter have been politically motivated. The issuance and extension of licenses, e.g. for channels from the TVN group, was suspended; decisions were issued only in the last days before the expiry of the old licenses.
KRRiT one of the last bastions of the old government?
The National Broadcasting Council, led by it, is widely considered to be one of the last bastions of the previous government. He opposes changes in the public media, calling them illegal, and also generously uses penalties for violating the press law and the National Broadcasting Council Act. However, penalties are mainly given to media that criticize the previous government, held by PiS – TOK FM or TVN. Just a few days ago, Maciej Świrski announced that because the publicist is a “satirist” there is “freedom of speech” in Poland. Pietrzak informed that there are ready-made camps waiting for refugees in Poland, built by the Germans during World War II – he was referring to fake news, as if in Germany refugees were sent to barracks, among others. in Dachau.
