Kashubians appeal to the creators of “Millionaires”. They indicate a glaring error
Urbański’s statement was met with considerable indignation, especially among the inhabitants of Kashubia, who believed that none of the proposed ones was correct, because the Kashubian language is not considered a dialect. The Kashubian-Pomeranian Association, which has been disseminating knowledge about the Kashubian language for years, also spoke on the matter.
We strongly protest against the spread of false information about the status of our community. The Kashubian language is recognized as a regional language not only by linguists, but also legally. (…) Therefore, no correct answer to the above-mentioned question was proposed, and at the same time Kashubians were offended, for whom the language they have been using for centuries is the most important attribute of their identity
– wrote in an official statement published on the Facebook platform. Szymon Grot, one of the activists involved in promoting Kashubian culture, also decided to comment on the situation. In his entry, he stated that the creators of the program not only misled the viewers, but also “insulted Kashubians” and deprived the participant of the opportunity to continue playing.
Linguists have recognized it as a separate language… since forever. (…) TVN and the creators of the game show should apologize to Kashubians and give this woman a chance to play again
