This macabre crime took place 29 years ago. So far, law enforcement authorities have not been able to determine who brutally murdered 14-year-old Agnieszka Kusiak from Gorlice. The teenager’s body was found on December 2, 1995. Initially, investigators were convinced that the girl had been hit by a car. The truth turned out to be completely different.

14-year-old Agnieszka Kusiak was stabbed 72 times. An autopsy showed that the 14-year-old died of exsanguination. Six years ago, her younger sister, Urszula, spoke to the media.

20 years have passed since that day. Agnieszka could be a fulfilled woman today, probably a happy wife and mother (…) The murderer did not give her a chance for a happy life

– she added.

On that fateful day, Agnieszka returned home after school, as usual. It was Friday. She started packing to stay with her grandmother, who lived in Ropa, near Gorlice. The girl often spent weekends with her. They had a very close relationship, and Agnieszka herself was a calm girl who didn’t cause any trouble. Her last fate was recreated in detail in his text by an investigative reporter , Dawid Serafin. However, Agnieszka had one more goal: she wanted to go to a disco in Ropa with her boyfriend. She didn’t tell her parents about it.

There was no sign of tragedy that evening, although Agnieszka’s sister had a bad feeling. Urszula, two years older, recalled that the last words she heard from the 14-year-old were: “I’ll come back, don’t worry.” They saw each other in the stairwell then. Urszula tried to stop her. She urged her not to go anywhere so late.

Agnieszka was supposed to go to her grandmother, but she was going to a disco. Her body was found in the morning

Despite everything, Agnieszka left the house around 6 p.m. Then she went to her friend’s house to buy a dress for the party. Then go straight to the bus stop, from which it will go directly to Ropa. This is where witnesses last saw her alive. Her body was found the next day by two students in Szymbark, located between Gorlice and Ropa. My friend and his friend were going to school. It was 7:00 a.m. when they saw a teenager lying in the bushes. Terrified, they immediately notified the police. At that time, no one realized that the murdered person was 14-year-old Agnieszka Kusiak.

Agnieszka’s father then returned from the night shift in the morning and joined his mother in Ropa. He knew that Agnieszka was not there. Moreover, Agnieszka’s grandmother did not mention that her granddaughter was supposed to come to see her. When he returned home to Gorlice, he heard from Urszula that his sister had gone to her grandmother. A moment later, police officers appeared and delivered the tragic news to the family.

The autopsy showed no signs of rape. However, she revealed that the child had been stabbed 72 times. According to experts, the girl died around 4.00 a.m. due to bleeding. It was also found that the place where the body was found was not the place where the murder had been committed. Various circumstances were then taken into account.

She told him “no” several times.

The brutal crime shocked the whole of Poland. Witness statements began to emerge. One man reported to the police station with a blue and white bag that Agnieszka had with her that evening. He found her by the road, 20 km from the scene of the incident. A neighbor of the Kusiak family allegedly saw her at the bus stop in Gorlice. She testified that a man was standing next to the girl and the teenager allegedly told him “no” several times. The woman did not hear the entire conversation.

Ten days after the murder, the first suspect was arrested. Agnieszka’s chain was found in the car belonging to 28-year-old Piotr. Urszula confirmed this. The sister had no doubt that the jewelry belonged to Agnieszka. The 28-year-old was charged with murder. He went to prison, but was released after 5 months. Reason? The police failed to collect sufficient evidence. Moreover, the man never pleaded guilty. After he was released, he went to the Kusiak family’s apartment. He swore that he was not the perpetrator of their daughter’s murder.

The investigation into Agnieszka’s murder was discontinued in 1998. However, the parents fought for its reopening, pointing out numerous shortcomings that occurred during the proceedings. After half a year, the investigation was resumed. In the same year, material about Agnieszka was shown in the “997” program. However, this did not lead to the arrest of the perpetrator. To this day, it is not known who murdered the 14-year-old. At the same time, Agnieszka’s parents were looking for him on their own, fighting with their last strength for justice. The unimaginable trauma had a major impact on their health. 5 years after Agnieszka’s death, her mother passed away, and a few years later her father.
