The film has no title yet. Director Piotr Barełkowski estimates that he will need PLN 150,000 for the entire project. The production will be handled by Telewizja Media Narodowe (TVMN), a new creation on the Polish television scene, created in competition with TV Republika.
National Media Television is raising money for a film about Jarosław Kaczyński
Not much is known about the production itself yet. It will most likely be a biographical picture of Jarosław Kaczyński, who has been present on the Polish political scene for over 30 years, and for about 20 years his influence on Polish politics has been undeniable and very visible. TVMN assures that the film directed by Piotr Barełkowski, who also sits on the management board of TVMN, will be “objective and without cheap Vaseline, without hate”.

The financial needs of the project are considerable, and it can be assumed that it is unlikely to receive support from the government. That’s why it was decided to start a collection. So far, the account has received four payments totaling just over PLN 1,000. Since the donors did not decide to make anonymous payments, it is clear that the director himself, a person related to him and a PiS councilor from Poznań contributed.
What is National Media Television?
Commonly called the “nationalists’ television”, Media Narodowe is a relatively new creation among Polish broadcasters. It advertises itself as television “without political correctness” and has been available in local multiplexes since the beginning of March this year. Director and producer Piotr Barełkowski is at the head of this project – he replaced Robert Bąkiewicz as president.
The station’s schedule includes talks by publicists (Marcin Wolski, Paweł Lisicki, Rafał Ziemkiewicz, Wojciech Cejrowski) and daily broadcasts of masses. Due to the conflict between the nationalists and PiS, TVMN distances itself from Jarosław Kaczyński’s party.
