The artist was bid farewell, among others, by the Academy of Theater Arts in Wrocław. “It is with great sadness that we announce that our long-time teacher and unforgettable colleague Marian Gańcza passed away on April 12, 2024,” we read on social media.
Gańcza was born in 1943 in Katowice. Apart from acting, he also consulted on films and performances, as well as working with stuntmen. In 1985, he created dueling routines in the film “Personal Diary of a Sinner Written by Himself.” In turn, in the series “Życie jak poker” broadcast in 1998-1999, he was responsible for special effects.

He made his debut as an actor in 1969 in “The Salt of the Black Earth” by Kazimierz Kutz, where he played the role of an insurgent. He played episodic roles in “Pearl in the Crown” by the same director, “The Nest” by Jan Rybkowski and the 1976 production “Excuse me, are they beating here?” directed by Marek Piwowski.
In the late 1970s, he found himself on the set of the TV series “Życie na hot”. Then he played in the series “The Master and Margarita” and the costume “Visors and Hoods” by Marek Piestrak. In 1982, he played an episodic role in the Polish horror film “Wolf”. He was responsible for stunts in, among others, “Mr. Wołodyjowski”, “How I Unleashed World War II”, “The Adventures of Mr. Michał” and the series “Nights and Days”.
