The leader of the boy band Just 5 disappeared at the height of his fame. Today he runs a family business

Bartek Wrona made his debut in the world of music as a 15-year-old. He quickly became the idol of Polish teenagers who, in the late 1990s, passionately listened to the songs of the group Just 5. Although the band eventually broke up, Wrona continued his solo career. He also met his wife Mariola, with whom he runs the family business today.

When the Polish music scene noticed him, Bartek Wrona was still a teenager. When he was only 15, he became the vocalist of the boy band Just 5, which became a hit in the late 1990s with the song “Kolorowe sny”. The debut album opened the door to a great career for him and the other band members. Within just half a year of starting their activity, the group played 360 concerts all over Poland. There were over 500 of them in total.

The road to fame

Bartek Wrona was very lucky – out of 600 candidates for Just 5 members, the producers chose him. If he hadn’t ended up on stage, he would probably have become a chef. “I was supposed to go to culinary school, I also had a professional internship arranged in a very good hotel. Fate turned out differently,” he told Plejada in 2022.

Instead of working in the catering industry, Wrona traveled all over Poland. His best memory is the concert in Zamość, where 45,000 people showed up. This was the first concert tour of Just 5, during which the band played together with the then popular band ‘N Sync, of which Justin Timberlake was a member.

The Polish boy band broke up after 6 years, although they achieved numerous successes during this time. In 2000, Grzegorz Kopala left the group. Later, the other members followed in his footsteps. Wrona began a solo career, during which he released as many as seven solo albums: “Zapomniałości” (2001), “Hugo and his songs” (2002), “Jedna na mln” (2005), “25” (2007), “Póki mam yourself” (2010), “Rejs” (2015) and “Bartek Wrona” (2022).

Life after Just 5

In 2005, the singer got involved with his current wife, Mariola. The couple met while filming the program “Stratosfera”: “During one of the rehearsals, I noticed that Mariola, who was sitting in the audience, was cold and I gave her a jacket,” Wrona told Plejada. Today, the musician and his wife run a family business – ballet schools for children. Bartosz teaches eurhythmics and zumba, and his beloved teaches ballet.
