A few weeks before the announcement of the official Oscar nominations, the American Film Academy publishes the so-called short lists, on which he places a dozen or so titles and names with the greatest chances for gold statuettes.
Oscars 2022. Awards for Poles within reach
The Polish Film Institute boasted on Facebook that the film “Dress”, directed by Tadeusz Łysiak, which it co-financed, was among the 15 titles on the shortlist of candidates for the Oscar in the category of the best short fiction film. It is worth noting that in the category of the best international full-length film, the Icelandic-Polish co-production of Valdimar Jóhannsson’s “Lamb” has a chance to be nominated for an Oscar. There was no room for the Polish candidacy, that is, “Let there be no traces” by Jan P. Matuszyński.
Academy members will vote for nominations from Thursday 27 January to Tuesday 1 February. We will find out who will compete for the prizes a week later, on February 8. The 94th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Dolby Theater and Highland, Hollywood.
