“Bichta éder”by Eneko Bidegain, or “Maitasun kapitala”, by Karmele Jaio. One of those two novels will be the winner of the 111 Akademia prize awarded each year by the reading club.

After choosing in a first vote the seven most outstanding books of last year (“Alaska”, Castillo Suarez; “Cayo bone”, Oihane Amantegi; “Hausnarrean” Josebe Blanco; “Itzulerak” Miren Agur Meabe; “Ura Saltoka”, Juan Kruz Igerabide; “Bichta éder”, Eneko Bidegain; and “Maitasun kapitala”, Karmele Jaio), the literature fans grouped in the 111 Akademia association have chosen as finalists for their prize the novels “Bichta éder” and ” Maitasun kapitala”.

Neither of the two titles has achieved 40% of all the votes cast, so academics will have to choose one of the two as the best book of 2023 before April 28.
