Rafał Patyra moved to TV Republika, where he became the host of “Express Republika”, a program whose format is similar to “Teleexpress”, known from Polish Television. The materials presented in it are usually discussed with a pinch of salt and a certain amount of humor. This one especially stuck with Rafał Patyra during the Monday edition of the website.
Rafał Patyra joked about the government on Republika TV
The host decided to joke about the government’s decisions, presenting the audience with an alternative vision of reality in which Henryk Sienkiewicz and Olga Tokarczuk’s book will not disappear from the reading list. He also commented in a similar tone about fuel prices and food price increases.
“Phew, the threat was real, but those in power came to their senses and withdrew from the least popular proposals. However, there will be no increase in food prices. Olga Tokarczuk will be removed from the school reading list, but Sienkiewicz and Kossak-Szczucka will remain. What’s more, fuel at some stations it already costs PLN 5.19. What a pity that April Fool’s Day is valid only one day a year,” said Rafał Patyra in “Express Republika”.
Rafał Patyra worked at Polish Television for over 20 years. He started his presenter career as the host of “Sport Telegramu” on TVP2. In 2016, he became the host of “Teleexpress” on TVP1. Due to changes that took place in the public media at the end of last year, his contract with Telewizja Polska was not extended. In February 2024, he moved to Telewizja Republika, where he has been running “Express Republika” since then.
