“O corno” and “Zinzindurrunkarratz”, awarded at the Nantes Spanish Film Festival
“The Blue Star”, directed by Javier Macipe, won this Monday the main award at the Nantes Spanish Film Festival (FCEN), which included guests such as filmmakers Víctor Erice and Pablo Berger.
Macipe’s first feature film as a director won the Jules Verne for best film and also the audience award, while the winner of the Golden Shell at the Zinemaldia in San Sebastián “Or as”by Jaione Camborda from San Sebastián, received a special mention.
The list of trophies for feature films was completed with “Chinese”by Arantxa Echevarría, which won the special prize from the young jury; “Upon Entry”, co-produced by the Basque company Basque Films and directed by Alejandro Rojas and Juan Sebastián Vásquez, who did the same with the best debut film; and “Zinzindurrunkarratz” (Oskar Alegría), which was awarded best documentary.
The finishing touch was a master class by Basque director Víctor Erice, special guest of this edition, who came to Nantes in the final stretch of the contest.
