In the 1950s and 1960s, the star could be seen on track because she was involved in athletics. As a mentee of, among others, Włocławek Sports Club “Kujawiak” she was training hurdles, long jump and sprint. She was successful on a nationwide scale. In 1959, she won a bronze medal in the 80-meter hurdles at the Polish Youth Championships. Three years later, she stood on the podium, winning the gold medal in the Polish Youth Athletics Championships in Olsztyn in the 4 x 100 meters relay.

After graduating from high school, Rodowicz took exams for the Academy of Fine Arts. However, she failed to get into this university, so she started studies at the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw. She chose specializing in sailing and therapeutic gymnastics. Maryla Rodowicz could have been involved in sports if not shoulder dislocation injury, which took place in 1966. She completed her bachelor’s degree and also started her master’s degree, but did not write her final thesis. – At the end of my studies, I was already singing professionally, so I did not write my master’s thesis. I don’t have a master’s degree, but I wouldn’t call it a mistake of youth – she admitted in “Show”.
