There was a time when you knew all your neighbors in the area. You could have a chat in the stairwell with a nice old lady living on the floor below, exchange pleasantries in the elevator with a neighbor walking his dog, or ask about the health of someone else you knew at least by sight. Today, in large housing estates, residents are more anonymous, and many of them go out of town on weekends, to their family homes. You can no longer hear in the stairwell: “Hello! How are you?!”

One of the readers wrote to the editorial office of nazwa.gazeta.pl, who decided to share her frustration with the behavior of her neighbors and appeal to others to pay attention to the principles of good manners in contacts with neighbors. “I have lived in the same block for 25 years, so most of our neighbors are with us – at least by sight.
