Spring has begun in full swing in Poland, which made gardeners very happy. These people now have a lot of work to do, including caring for the thuja. How to care for such beautiful conifers after winter? If you want them to separate you from nosy neighbors again this season, don’t forget about fertilizing.

Thujas have been popular in Poland for many years. These are beautiful conifers that are most often planted near fences, so they create a great hedge separating us from our neighbors. They do not have excessive requirements, but – like many other plants – they need additional support after winter. An injection of nutrients in the form of homemade fertilizers will make your trees green again and become a unique decoration of the space in front of your house.

Thuja care after winter. Instead of pouring it down the sink, use it in the garden

Thujas are usually chosen by people who have a house or garden plots to gain some privacy on their property. If you also intend to do so or you already own these unique shrubs, know that they need special care after winter. In February and March, you can notice that the plant’s shoots have lost their lush green color and some of the twigs have completely dried up. How to get them back in order? All you need to do is use water from cooked vegetables, which does not contain any spices. When the liquid cools down, you can water your trees with it, which will provide them with many valuable nutrients such as phosphorus, potassium, iron and magnesium. This is a simple and cheap trick that even our grandmothers used. What to use instead of water after vegetables? Are there any other methods worth recommending?

This fertilizer will nourish your thujas. After drinking, mix with water and water the bushes

Water after boiling vegetables is not everything. If you’re not planning on making a vegetable salad, you’ll definitely decide to have coffee at some point during the day. After drinking it, leave the grounds and mix with a little water. Water the tree with the prepared infusion and it’s ready. In this way, you will provide the plant with a large amount of nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus, which will be beneficial for it at this time of the year. You can also pour cooled coffee grounds directly under the bush and mix them with the soil, but according to experienced gardeners, the first trick works much better.

Yeast fertilizer is also great for thuja, and is usually used at the turn of May and June. How to do it? All you need to do is dissolve a cube of fresh product in 10 liters of water and then water the plant with the mixture. Water with yeast can also be poured into a spray bottle and used as a spray against fungal diseases.
