Jennifer Hill and David Jason dated in the late 1960s, and in 1970, the actress’ daughter Abi Harris was born. Until her husband’s death in 1996, Hill was convinced that he was the father of their child. When doubts arose in her mind, she decided to take a paternity test. This revealed that Abi is actually David Jason’s child. The actor has been in a relationship with Gill Hinchcliffe for over 25 years, whom he married in 2005. The couple had given birth to their daughter, Sophie, four years earlier.
For the actor’s relatives, the news about his second child was a bit shocking. “They were very understanding. They accepted Abi, welcomed her and her son into their, now larger, family… I am delighted to meet her. We meet whenever we can,” he reported in an interview with “The Mirror”. The woman herself also commented on the discovery from two years ago: “Of course I am excited and incredibly proud, but often completely overwhelmed with sadness because of all the years we have lost. I hope that we will be able to find time to see each other more often so that I can master the art of being the best older sister and could build a deep father-daughter relationship in the truest sense of the word,” she told the daily.
David Jason is a four-time BAFTA winner. The 83-year-old actor became famous for his role in the comedy series “Only Fools and Horses”, for which he received one of the statuettes.
