Comedy, evil, love, union, equality, revenge are intertwined in this new version of the classic tale that today has its last function.
About 8 minutes had elapsed since 20:00, the main hall of the Sánchez Aguilar Theater It looked almost full, there were only a few chairs that were still unoccupied. Children with their parents, uncles or grandparents were looking forward to the performance. While outside, a small group begged to be allowed in, despite not having presented the vaccination card, a document they asked for before the tickets and after good night. About 10 minutes later, the lights in the room went down and the curtains were opened to start the penultimate performance of Snow White, a modern version of the classic tale, produced by Daemon and directed by Jaime Tamariz.

A chilling and gloomy scenography placed the spectators in the castle of Queen Malva, who seconds later took the stage, under the dominant interpretation of Ana Sparrows. His arrival was accompanied by a musical intervention that was complemented by a tight black dress with a long train. In the background her throne, from which she did her misdeeds or talked with her mirror to confirm -one more time- that she was the most beautiful in the palace. The mirror, a defining character in history, came down from the top every time the queen called, and with a technology of mapping projected onto its surface, it answered his majesty.
The next scene moved the audience to the colorful and sweet castle of Snow White, personified by a charismatic and spontaneous Joyce Macías, who together with the actresses and singers Gabriela Andrade Y Maria del Mar Rendón some laughter drew from the audience. Like Claudia Camposano in her role as Nana, who radiated a mixture of tenderness, wit and mother figure at the same time. The romantic, gallant and chivalrous touch put him Diego Chiang, in his role as Prince Floria. All of them gave voice to the songs composed by Juanjo Ripalda Y Victor Andrade, who were also in charge of the sound, which very precisely helped the setting of each situation that was interwoven in the work.
The set design of a tiny, but warm house welcomed the stellar performance of the short performers who welcome Snow White into their home, after some divided opinions between them. Andrea Verdezoto, Yuli Briones, Misael Espinoza, Vicente Romero, Magner Ordóñez, Jésica Ibáñez and George Zula they moved around the stage with complete naturalness and with a distinctive characteristic in each of their characters, whose names did not respond to those already known in the classic tale, but to their own names with nicknames that were in accordance with their personality; such as Doble Filo, Pito, Doctor, Distancia, Advance, among others.

Their presence at the work was more than special, it was necessary, because they had the job of carrying a message that went against discrimination and advocated for equality, respect, and inclusion. “Here the heart is what matters, everything else is worth cake”, they chanted in their song that at the end of the play was replicated by some of the attendees who said goodbye to the theater.
But the evil wanted to take power later with the old witch incarnated by Marina Salvarezza, his laugh, his powerful and evil voice managed to keep more than one in suspense. While The Hunter, played by Daniel Cueva, It was loaded with humor in no time.
This theatrical version is loaded with good, fair and timely surprises. So much from Snow White herself, who decides to go from a delicate princess to a warrior who fights for freedom and a more just society; even from the mirror that in the end receives a pleasant and fun identity. The interaction between the characters and the audience was present in the almost hour and twenty minutes that the play lasted, creating a natural synergy between all of them.
The light work, production, costumes and props had their own prominence, giving life to every detail that made up this version that filled the main room of the TSA with magic.
At the end, the audience and the cast, with transparent masks, shared minutes for the photographs, congratulations, and hugs from the lobby of the theater. The last show is tonight at 20:00. (I)
