Next January 14 will mark ten years since the death of one of the brightest and most prolific minds in Basque culture. That day in 2012 the writer, linguist and thinker Jose Luis Álvarez Enparantza died Txillardegi.
Now, ten years later, San Sebastián will host various events in his memory on January 11, 13, 15 and 18. On the 11th from 7:00 p.m., you will be able to enjoy the talk “Txillardegiren hizkuntza politikaren oinarriak eta bere gaurkotasuna” at the San Telmo museum.
Two days later, on January 13 and again at the San Telmo museum starting at 7:00 p.m., Koldo Izagirre, Garbiñe Ubeda, Juan Luis Zabala and Gorka Bereziartua will present the book Chronicles.
On Saturday, January 15 from 12:00 hours, there will be an act in Txillardegi square, and on January 18 from 7:00 p.m. in San Telmo the books will be presented Txillardegi: Basque culture Y Txillardegi: intellectual and social.
In addition, those responsible for the Txillardegi Liburutegia initiative, which demands that the central library of San Sebastián be named like this, have given new impetus to the collection of signatures for this purpose.
