With no experience, he found himself on the set. How much did Conor McGregor earn on “Road House”?

She debuts on screen with a bare butt, and then mainly hits people and speaks Irish. Conor McGregor steals the show in the ‘Road House’ remake. How much did he earn for his first film role?

. A remake of the hit from years ago starring Patrick Swayze has been released. His arch-nemesis, who has been haunting him since the middle of the film, has been stripped of all his inhibitions and Knox’s rules. UFC champion Conor McGregor was hired for this role. He entered the set as if he were entering the ring, his task was to play a real fighter, say a few funny lines with an Irish accent and engage in several spectacular fights with Gyllenhaal. For a fighter, the cage and the ring are not new, but on the film set he was a nouveau riche. Meanwhile, his salary broke all records.

“Road House”. Conor McGregor broke Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s record

To date, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has received the highest film pay ever offered to an amateur debutant. “The Rock” received $5.5 million for appearing in the next part of “The Mummy” in 2001, which was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. In recent interviews promoting “Road House”, Conor McGregor happily said that his friend’s record was in the past, and he had earned even more.

I’m the highest paid debutant in the world, so I have a new reason to be proud

– he boasted on “Good Morning Britain”. Although the exact acting salaries in “Road House” remain a mystery, McGregor’s boasts are not idle. The role in the film is actually his acting debut (he had previously only appeared in short commercials and promotional films), and he undoubtedly earned more for at least a dozen or so days of work than for one fight. It is estimated at several to a dozen (or, according to some estimates, several dozen) million dollars. One thing is certain – it is more than $5.5 million, because the player himself claims that he took over the record previously held by “The Rock”. McGregor is a name in his own right. He is the richest MMA fighter in the world and also one of the highest valued. The role in the film was probably a pleasant diversion for him, but that doesn’t mean that he didn’t get a nice sum of money for it – in the end, not only his “game”, but also mentoring on the set and the role of a living advertisement for the production were valued.

Conor McGregor punched Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of ‘Road House’

McGregor and Gyllenhaal exchanged quite a few fake punches in the film. The men clash several times, and although Gyllenhaal has undergone training to prepare him for the role of ring champion, McGregor would defeat him in a split second. On the set, the actor listened to the advice of the fighter, who repeatedly told him how a real boxer would behave if the fight were serious.

We had shots where we exchanged fake blows and then we watched them on video. He showed me and said ‘turn your head here, move this way,’ it will make it look more natural

– Jake Gyllenhaal explained in a conversation with Jimmy Fallon. During one such shot, in the middle of the night, Conor McGregor’s punch suddenly landed. The player tried to show how to finish off his opponent after a left hook and… he hit it. Fortunately, McGregor’s punch was adapted to the attempts and it ended with surprise, slight pain and an apology.

The movie “Road House” can be watched on Amazon Prime Video.
