After the emotional post, Vito Bambino returned to his Instagram to explain the situation. “Okay, calm down. I haven’t lived here for the last 33 years and just like I didn’t know what Mêskie Granie was before I took part, the Fryderyk Awards are something very theoretical for me and I don’t know what emotional connections you have with this award, maybe be important to you, so I won’t take it anymore and won’t call it an idiot. It’s a great award. And I congratulate everyone who receives it,” the artist began.
“I’m too sensitive”
Vito Bambino once again stressed that he has no intention of competing again. “Anyway, I won’t give my numbers to ZPAV, and not because it’s a f***ing prize, let’s all get over it, it’s okay. Just because I’m too sensitive to expose myself to “assess your very important, personal belongings to a body of specialists,” he said. This is an understandable attitude, if we take into account how much emotion, to which he has every right, this type of exposing himself to judgment evokes in the artist.
The next part of his statement, in which the singer belittles the competition, sounded slightly weaker. “I am an author who writes very autobiographically, very honestly, the stakes are high, so the fall is higher than for someone who has a ghostwriter and writes with someone and is doing a strictly musical project. But no one sees this behind the scenes” – Vito Bambino added.
The musician also did not give up further malice towards the industry. “If everyone these days has to Google what song of the year is because no one knows it except the elite who choose it, then maybe let’s just call it: the smartest music award in the country.” It is worth recalling that the winner of the song of the year award this time was Lech Janerka, who founded the legendary band Klaus Mitffoch in 1979. The band’s album of the same title is considered one of the most important albums in the history of Polish rock music.
