Performances are one of the most popular forms of entertainment in Poland. Over the decades, many different formations have emerged, some of which are now considered cult. Unusual humor and original jokes are the domain of, among others, the Paranienormalni cabaret, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary of its stage activity in 2024.
Why did Igor Kwiatkowski leave Paranienormalnych? It was he who created the iconic character of Mariolka
The group was founded by Igor Kwiatkowski in 2004 in Jelenia Góra, where their first performances took place. After 4 years, the band was expanded by Michał Paszczyk, who had previously performed in the cabaret. It was then that Paranormal began to gain more and more popularity and recognition among viewers, including: thanks to the creation of the crazy Mariolka-krejzolka character. The constantly growing interest in their performances meant that they began to present their skits at music festivals and other entertainment events, such as the End of Summer of RMF FM and Polsat or the Song Festival in Opole.
In the meantime, they even got their own program “Paranienormalni Tonight”, broadcast on TVP2, for which they were awarded the Telekamera award in 2016. Although a year later he left the band and decided to focus on his solo career, and his place was taken by Jarosław Pająk, the phenomenon of Paranienormalnych does not seem to be weakening and they are still considered one of the best cabaret groups in the country.
This is the funniest sketch available on YouTube. It has nearly 30 million views
Over the years, Paranormal has received many different awards and nominations. In 2005, they took first place at the Cabaret Tribunals Festival, and later received third place and the title of Ścieka na Dąbrowska Ściema Kabaretowa “DebeŚciaK”.
They also include , which is currently the most popular on YouTube in terms of the number of views. I’m talking about the show “I Just Had to Get In and Out” presented during the 800th anniversary of Opole, which has already had over 29.5 million views.
